Arek began his season training at Montalivet where unfortunately he smashed not only his jet ski, but his left leg and both knees, not an auspicious start to 2009.

Despite these 'minor' setbacks Arek returned to Montalivet in April to start his campaign, his knees braced and strapped, his jet ski held together with duct-tape. With help from fellow riders who lent him skis after his faithful Yamaha disintegrated again, Arek achieved an amazing joint 5th position, putting him at 7th overall in the title standings.

A super smooth text book 'backy'

The Amazing 'No Hands' Barrel Roll Arek was one of only two competitors to attempt the 'No Hand' Barrel Roll, and not only did he pull it off superbly, this was with 2 smashed knees!
